Whether sailing one's own boat or enjoying a luxury yacht charter, the town most popular places to visit are Hvar Town - billed as the new St. Tropez and with the mega yachts of Bill Gates, Bernie Ecclestone and Roman Abramovich occasional visitors - and Vrboska, a pretty fishing town on the northern coast which houses the main marina on the island.

With the growing foreign interest in Croatian tourism, more boat owners are choosing to base their boats year round in Croatia, and the ACI Marina in Vrboska has been experiencing a boom and has expanded its capacity to cope with the increased demand.

The facilities are excellent and include a gas station, five ton crane, restaurant, repair shop, laundry service, toilets and showers. Vrboska: Little Venice, Nudist Haven and Yachting Paradise
Apart from being the main port of call for the sailing community on Hvar, Vrboska is a well-established tourist resort in its own right, popular with a wide variety of visitors for different reasons. One of Hvar's best naturist beaches is close to the town and, coupled with the nearby FKK camping and nudist beach on the tiny island of Zecevo, it is extremely popular with the naturist community - the island has a long tradition of FKK tourism.
Vrboska is also a popular destination for families, with its excellent beach at Soline and a relaxed, pedestrianised old town, which includes numerous bars and restaurants, an extraordinary church-fortress on the main square, and a picturesque canal which meanders its way between old Dalmatian stone houses.
